Many a times we were asked to visit temples. When we were kids we were taught to pray for our prosperity and education. Now that we are grown out of that and are in no mood for education (J) any more, what should we pray when we enter temple? We ask for some wish which we hope for, but many of us don’t have any. During my last visit to temple, I struggled to come up with something I need to wish for. I could not practically think of something tangible I lack now and to pray for. I could have wished for money, car, lands etc., but I know what their true worth is. I already possess them and am not greedy enough to want more.
This gave rise to a question. What to wish for? We know that what we are granted is not entirely our choice. We did not choose our parents. We chose our friends but we did have a choice on the people we encounter. There is a central controlling force called who wrote the script for us to act. If everything is drafted for us why do we need to pray? Swamy Vivekanda has said “Our today’s actions determine our tomorrow”. There are many instances like Markandeya who were able to alter the script written by their Bhakti.
What about blessed ones like us who have (nearly) everything in life. What can we wish for? What do we need to pray when we enter temple? We can wish for prosperity of the world which in turn determines your prosperity. How ever sages say that there are two definite things to ask for when you come face to face with God.

Blessed are those who leave the world with no problems during death. We suffer for all the bad deeds we do. Death is not a punishment for the bad deeds because even good people die. How we die is going to be determined by our punya from this and past lives. Also how we live on earth is determined by our punya. We should live in such a way that we derive respect not only from others but also one’s own conscience. One may do all bad deeds with out proof but his conscience will tell him every single time he looks in mirror what he truly is.
Food for thought: Why do people close eyes when they reach temple after seeing God? Despite taking so much time and pain in reaching the temple like Tirupati, people close eyes in the 5 seconds timeslot given to see Lord Venkatesa. (Answers are anticipated)

When ever u go to temple just pray that "All my surrounding persons should be happy".
Why we want to pray like this?Questions arriases immediealtly in our minds.
See when ever people around u are happy definetly u will be happy.When this becomes true means when u help the people when they need help.This feeling comes to human beings when they feel that it is "MINE".So, think that "INDIA IS MY COUNTRY" then if any body ask help means definatly u will do because ur thinking that India is yours.
We all know this Comment that "FOR EVERY REACTION THERE IS EQUAL AND APPOSITE REACTION"
The same way God tells to every one help any one before asking any help to me.
God will tell us i am also Human Being same like u.So,if u help any body then no need to ask me i will help u.Just sit lonely and think u will come to know what actually god wants to tells to people.
when ever we start praying to god we should ask our desires with intelligence.
I will tell u a small story how to pray to god with intelligence.
A small family husband,wife,2 children are staying in that house.
This family is staying in very small house we can say it is small hut.
He is having so many promblems.
He is not having job to save his family.
His mother is not having eyes to see the world.
His two children having no legs to walk.
He is unable to give happiness to his wife means not putting suffient food and also no place to sleep at all in the house such a small house it is....so many promblems he is having.......
One day he came out of all his promblems.....How
His intelligence made him to become rich.
God became sarrow on him and he thought he wants to help that guy and he came infront of him and told him that ask any only one desire i will give....then the guy thinked for one minute and he asked like this.....
"I want a job with good salaray with that i want to construct a big house so that my mother should see that house and she should feel proud by seeing that and in the parking area my children should start running all around that"
The moral of this is pray to god with intelligence.
See here first thing
He got the job with good salaray.
Next his mother got eyes.(If this sentence is not understood means read the above sentence once again)
His two children got legs.
His wife is happy by seeing all these things.
So dont blindly pray to god.
"PRAY WITH INTELLIGENCE"
Why people close their eyes while meditating? the same is the answer for closing eyes before god. Meditating in presence of god atleast for 5 sec(unfortunately time constraint). We are not going to see his physical appearence or to see how he was decorated or how beautiful he is.
